Aaron Rosenberg has served as a member of the MercedCERA Board of Retirement since 2021.

Rosenberg has dedicated his life to protecting and serving Merced County and has held the rank of captain for the Merced County Sheriff’s Office since March of 2021, where he currently oversees patrol, detectives, the communication bureau, animal services bureau, the coroner’s office, dive rescue and recovery, and two sub-station area commanders.

Prior to his current position, Rosenberg was promoted to lieutenant in October of 2017 where he was assigned to the Corrections Bureau as the commanding officer of the Merced County Sheriff’s Office main jail. Rosenberg has also held the position of sergeant in 2014, station sergeant in 2016, and field-training officer in 2005.

Rosenberg graduated from the police academy in 1999. He also graduated with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice management from Union Institute & University in 2014.

When he’s not actively serving Merced County, Rosenberg enjoys traveling and studying WWII history.
